Diagnosis: Proliferative endocapillary glomerulonephritis, postinfectious (with "humps")

Histological appearance (endocapillary proliferation with neutrophils: exudative) and immunofluorescence (strong staining for IgG and C3, garland pattern) suggested the diagnosis. The presence of humps, indicated by the arrows in Figures 6 and 7, and the antecedent of impetigo in the left leg three weeks before, confirmed the postinfectious nature of this acute glomerulonephritis. This antecedent was not mentioned to do the diagnosis less obvius.

Humps so large are not usual, this was the reason to present this case.

See the chapter Proliferative Endocapillary Glomerulonephritis of our tutorial.
